Melton Christian College - Performing Arts Centre

Gazelle construction was involved in the initial tendering process of the Performing Arts Centre (PAC) building prior to Covid 19 and then was awarded the project after a redesign took place. It is a state of the art Performance Arts Centre, which has integrated the latest technology from interactive teaching tools to advanced security equipment. It is a very elaborate design which features a curved block work wall as the spine of the building, having the main roof structure connected to this.

The design incorporates many different materials which complement each other. From feature block work to corrugated (weathered Iron) wall sheeting, to Exotec, using earthy natural colours. The use of large glazing and strategic placement of windows utilises natural light to compliment this build.

The first floor is a suspended concrete construction and access to the first floor is provided via a masterpiece feature staircase incorporating the option of using an ergonomic lift to cater for DDA (Disability Access) compliance. The build also incorporated the refurbishment and upgrade of the existing Multi Purpose Hall.

The PAC is an integral art building of Melton Christian College and is one of the mostly used buildings on the premises. It is utilised for VCE exams, school classes, tutoring, music classes, dance classes, community groups and pray centre. Having a cafeteria and commercial kitchen within the building allows it to be a useful place of gathering.

It has been a pleasure to be able to deliver this complex build in time, on budget and to fulfill the needs of all the different stake holders who utilise this building.
